Robert—better known as “Gunny”—is a retired Gunnery Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving 21 years in defense of this country. His career included operations in Desert Storm, Iraq, Kuwait, and other deployments around the world. After more than two decades of service, Gunny made the decision to retire so he could return home to Montana and put family first.
Gunny and his wife, Tracy, are lifelong Montana natives from Kalispell, with family roots in the state spanning over 100 years. After relocating from the Flathead Valley to Broadus to be closer to their eldest daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren, they planted deeper roots in eastern Montana and built something of their own.
Firearms have always been a passion for Gunny—from buying, selling, and trading. That passion, paired with Marine Corps values of discipline, responsibility, and attention to detail, led him to obtain his Federal Firearms License (FFL) in 2018 and open Gunny’s Guns.
